There are no Staff Governor representatives from Whitmore Park as the Federation constitution only allows for one across the Federation and this is a staff member at Willenhall.
The term of office for all governors and members is four years.
The federation consists of Whitmore Park Primary School (WPP) and Willenhall Community Primary School (WCP)

Dave Chater is a long standing experienced School Governor including previously Chairing Chace Primary School and on merger becoming Chair of Willenhall Community Primary School. Dave has also served as a Governor at Ernsford Grange School and Community College.
“I am pleased to have been elected to Chair our new Federation Governing Body. These are exciting times for both Willenhall Community Primary and Whitmore Park and the benefits to our pupils of this new relationship are emerging.”
Dave is committed to leading the Federation forward in providing the best education opportunities for all our pupils.
I have lived in Coventry for over 30 years and I am now retired from full-time employment. Previously I have worked as a Local Government Officer for Coventry City Council and was a Labour Councillor for Bablake Ward for 4 years. I have chaired and been a member of a range of committees in the areas of Education, Service Improvement and Partnerships. I am committed to excellent education for young children and believe that good schooling provides a firm foundation for a successful and happy adult life. I am married with 6 children and a keen gardener and fisherman.
I was appointed as a governor at Willenhall Infant School and also Willenhall Junior School in 1991. When the two schools merged into Willenhall Wood Primary School, I carried on as governor and also served as Deputy Chair. When the schools merged with Chace Primary School the school became Willenhall Community Primary School which I am still serving.
I have served as a City Councillor for more than 26 years and am still serving. During that time, I have served in various positions of responsibilities including Lord Mayor of City and Chaired various Committees and Scrutiny Boards. Currently I am Deputy Cabinet Member City Services.
I am Senior Corporate Reporting & Charities Manager for a local firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers; I have over 20 years of experience in accountancy, audit and financial reporting.
Both of my children have attended Whitmore Park Primary School and although they have now left I have served successive terms as Governor.
I have been with the school through a period of significant change: working our way to improve standards and attainments to move out of special measures and be overjoyed with OFSTED’s judgement of “Good with outstanding leadership”; and the build of the new school. We are now working towards having the land returned to us and developing this to improve the environment and facilities to enrich our children’s overall learning experience.
We are not a Governing body that rests in it laurels and there is still a lot of work ahead of us but it is very rewarding to see the benefits for the children of the changes implemented and hard work of the staff.
I am looking forward to what the future brings and where it takes our schools.
I am an ex pupil of the school, I have one child who attended the school, and one child still at the school. I have worked at a local aerospace manufacturing company for over 30 years. I am a senior trade union representative at work, and have been for over 10 years. I also sit on the executive heath and safety committee at work for over 10 years I have gained qualifications in business administration, and information technology.
I am proud to be a Federation governor, and along with my colleagues on the governing body, staff and children work hard to make school a happy, safe and rewarding place to be.
As a member of the senior leadership team, I have attended governing body meetings as an observer for the past five years. I have been a staff governor for almost a year now and this has enabled me to become fully involved in the governance of the school. As deputy and class teacher I am able to represent the staff’s view at meetings and share my knowledge of the school with governors. I am entirely committed to raising attainment and working towards our goal to become an outstanding school.
All of my children attended Willenhall Primary School and I am now a parent governor. I am committed to ensuring that as a member of the federated governing body we put all children's education and needs first to give them the best start in life and education.
