Whitmore Park Primary School is within Coventry City Council situated 2 miles north of the city centre. We are a 3 form entry school teaching pupils aged 3 to 11 years (Nursery to year 6).

Our Vision

Be the best you can be!

We believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where children thrive and staff create first hand learning experiences that give all pupils the skills, self-confidence and resilience to fulfil their potential. We support our children to exceed expectations and to be ambitious and aspirational. We strive for our children to celebrate and harness their diversity, show respect to others and make good choices. Our curriculum is accessible for all, maximising children’s talents to ensure they can be the best they can be.

Values

Pupils need to feel a sense of ownership of the school they attend which places emphasis on pupils’s responsibilities to treat all people with respect and to be caring of each other. The expectations we have of our pupils encompass our school values which seeks to promote the development of the whole-child within our society by nurturing a desire to be successful and ambitious.

Our school rules are based on five key values. We teach our children these values to support their moral development and to prepare them for life in modern Britain.

Federation

Whitmore Park Primary School is federated with Willenhall Community Primary School.

History

The old Whitmore Park school was built in 1951. We are delighted with our new build which was officially opened on 1 May 2014.

Community

Whitmore Park School is a very large primary school. We have many pupils from a range of ethnic backgrounds and celebrate the diversity of cultures within our school. We are situated in an area primarily surrounded by private housing however we take many of our pupils from outside the catchment area. Within the school we have provision for twelve pupils with Special Educational Needs statements for Speech and language difficulties.

In April 2014 we moved into a new state of the art building situated on the current site. We are based on a large site which we hope to develop to provide extensive provision for outdoor learning and sports.

We are based in the heart of a lively community, near to a large outstanding secondary school and shopping area. We work closely with other partners in the community and look forward to developing this work further.
